I'll do some more digging. I have not record of a a brother James, but it is possible. Edward's father was named James, and the census for Birr, Ireland that I've seen was done 1821, which would have been before the birth of the James you mention. I have no record of a son for Edward, named John, born in Newfoundland. I have reviewed the web sites you listed, but I'll take another look. Thanks again.
