Hi, I'll be one of the first to submit a query under our new administrator. For at least 20 years, I have been trying to identify the parents of Daniel Fitzgerald, who was born perhaps 1740-50 in York County, Maine. He appears on the 1771 Massachusetts property tax list, living in York County. In 1770 he was married, to Elizabeth Allen, daughter of Ezekiel Allen of Berwick. Elizabeth was a Quaker, and they married in Dover, NH. Elizabeth was "outed" by the Quakers for marrying a non-Quaker. At some point after that, they moved to Rye, NH. They had four children, Daniel, Ezekiel, Molly & Nancy. Daniel, Sr. died late 1799, and Elizabeth subsequently married in January 1800, Josiah Beal. Josiah died in 1810 at Newburyport, MA, and Elizabeth in 1815, same location. My direct ancestor is Daniel's son, Ezekiel. He was born about 1780, married in 1804, at Portsmouth, Margaret Fernald. If anyone on the list is related to or knows of this rather obscure Fitzgerald family, please respond to this query.
