Hi Mary, Saw your post on the Fitzgerald list and thought I would take a shot in the dark.  Just signed on to the list and haven't posted yet..just starting to research this line for my spouse.  We're looking for connections to James Fitzgerald, b. Apr 1828 (his granddaughter wrote in Dungarvon). He came to US in Mar 1849, spending 2 years in Massachusetts and moving on to Tazewell Co, IL where he married Ellen O'Connell in 1857.  They moved on to the Kansas City, KS area abt 1860 and had 10 children along the way.  (Mary, Honora, Thomas, James, Patrick, Maurice, Michael, Edward, Joseph)  We also have an 1890's photo of an elderly couple..written on the back is "Thos. and Mary Fitzgerald, parents of Maurice Franklin Fitzgerald of San Antonio, TX"  If we have any connection, this would be just too, too easy.  Haven't gotten far enough in to know if James came to US with family or not.  These common names are really a challenge.  What do you think?
