"Palestine - Gravesides services for Velma Fitzgerald, 97, Houston, formerly of Palestine, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Park with the Rev. David Luckert officiating under direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mrs. Fitzgerald died Nov. 28 in Houston. She was born September 16, 1903, in Palestine to the late Ballard and Molly Penrey Brown. She was a railroad clerk for Missouri Pacific Railroad, member of Order of Eastern Star of Palestine and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by husband, Elmer D. Fitzgerald in 1980; sister, Mae Flournoy in 1998. Survivors include a nephew, Richard Flournoy, Houston. Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at funeral home."
