In response to Karen's query - My great grandfather, Thomas Fitzgerald, had a brother William bpt. Sep 1815 Burncourt, Civil Parish of Shanrahan, Barony of Iffa & Offa West, Co. Tipperary. Parents: Maurice & Ellen (Keating) Fitzgerald. There were and still are Kennedys in that area. We think William came to the U.S. as there was a person of that name who sponsored our Thomas in the Citizenship process in Utica, Oneida County, New York, 14 March 1859.
