    3. Hello Everyone, I am so sorry about the attachment on the article about the Holloway's graves found. I wanted to let everyone know that I don't send attachments. I also don't open them unless I know the person, I now wont open any after that. Does anyone know how an attachment gets on a persons letters that they send out. Because when I sent this letter it was not there, but when I got it back it was on there. PLEASE FORGIVE ME, MY GENEALOGY FRIENDS!!!

    1. AMBROSE FITZGERALD - Rains County, Texas
    2. Wayne & Peggy Horton
    3. Since my husband's family was from Rains County, Texas, and he still has a farm there, we subscribe to the RAINS COUNTY LEADER, the local newspaper in Emory, Tx. In this week's issue, Rev. AMBROSE FITZGERALD is mentioned under a picture of EMORY RAINS. The newspaper is on the Internet and you can reach the site by clicking on: http://www.rainscountyleader.com/leader/sections/lookback.html If that doesn't take you directly to the page, click on: http://www.rainscountyleader.com/ and then click on "Looking Back" on the upper left side. I have no further information on either AMBROSE FITZGERALD or EMORY RAINS -- just want to let those who may be interested know about it. Peggy Horton

    2. I guess that the Fitzgerald you are discussing from Limerick didn't have a brother Michael, or did he please? Michael, who stayed over in England and may have gone back to Ireland is who I'm researching. He claimed he was a farmer on his sons marriage certificate and that took place in Surrey. Shannon

    3. Ed - This may sound like a "downer", but searching for a person in Ireland without knowing his/her county of origin is sure to be frustrating. Have you looked for obits for the two women you are sure came to the States, so as to screen it for county of origin, etc. Unfortunately, in most frequently found surnames, Fitzgerald ranks 36th which means there are a lot of them. If you have had access to the Griffith's Valuation CD put out by Family Tree Maker, altho it is not complete, it does have a great number of the name, but only seven William Fitzgeralds in Co. Tipperary, and none of the seven is my grand uncle William Fitzgerald born in 1815 so you see what I mean about it being incomplete. The only complete survey of heads of household in Ireland between 1848-1864 is the complete replication of Griffith's Valuation by the Ryans in Bray, Co. Wicklow. That one copied every page of the whole Valuation of Ireland and added a search engine. Unfortunately, they have not seen fit to put a reasonable price on it or sell/lease it to any genealogy supplier in the US. Last price I had from them.was £2,500 which is far from what most of us can pay. Please continue to try to pin down time and a wife's name in this country before spending money in Ireland.
