Arrived in Australia abt 1860. Married (or not?) to Annie C Davis pre 1876. He was Catholic & She Prodestant (Unverified - married in Richmond Victoria 17 March 1874, St Mary's Church) I have records for the birth of 9 children verifying Johns existance, & whereabouts, between 1876 to 1889. I'm led to believe that John left Annie some time after that date & may have had another family ...? He may have spent some time in the Broken Hill mines & perhaps died in a mine disaster. None of this information is supported by actual records. I'd love to locate my family history in Ireland but until I can put the pieces of John's life together I'm unable to find out who his partents were & therefore can't follow the line back beyond this very illusive ancestor. Any information would be much appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello David, Welcome to this list. I do not think I will ever find my FITZGERALD Ancestors as they were mainly living in Ireland and not America, which seems to be the only Fitzgeralds mentioned on this list. However, I am looking for TIMOTHY FITZGERALD who could also go under the name of JOHN / JAMES FITZGERALD born 1784-86 Ireland. He was widowed when he came to Wales UK in the 1841 census and was accompanied by 2 daughters Eleanor aged 13 and Mary Ann b.1836 aged 5 I think I have found the girls births in Co Sligo but not sure. The father is known as John James FITZGERALD and mother Mary Ann QUILL. On Timothys 2nd marriage certificate he shows his father as REDMOND FITZGERALD and the only Redmond I have ever found is a brother to MICHAEL?FITZGERALD who married into the PEIRCE/PEARCE Family. I have all of Timothys and Mary Anns history in Swansea and Cardiff as she married my g/grandfather, THOMAS HOOLEY b.1836 Ireland and married in Swansea Wales UK in 1857. I do not need any of this history as I have it all BUT would love to find out where Timothy came from in Ireland and more about his first wife whose name I do not have and also about RedmondFITZGERALD family. My next step is to possibly get a birth Certificate from Sligo Ireland for Mary Ann which might have more info on it and trace the mother and her death as Timothy was widowed in the 1841 Census of Wales UK. Any help would be appreciated. Hi, I'll be one of the first to submit a query under our new administrator. For at least 20 years, I have been trying to identify the parents of Daniel Fitzgerald, who was born perhaps 1740-50 in York County, Maine. He appears on the 1771 Massachusetts property tax list, living in York County. In 1770 he was married, to Elizabeth Allen, daughter of Ezekiel Allen of Berwick. Elizabeth was a Quaker, and they married in Dover, NH. Elizabeth was "outed" by the Quakers for marrying a non-Quaker. At some point after that, they moved to Rye, NH. They had four children, Daniel, Ezekiel, Molly & Nancy. Daniel, Sr. died late 1799, and Elizabeth subsequently married in January 1800, Josiah Beal. Josiah died in 1810 at Newburyport, MA, and Elizabeth in 1815, same location. My direct ancestor is Daniel's son, Ezekiel. He was born about 1780, married in 1804, at Portsmouth, Margaret Fernald. If anyone on the list is related to or knows of this rather obscure Fitzgerald family, please respond to this query. Thanks, Ginny -----Original Message----- From: W David Samuelsen Sent: Friday, January 04, 2013 11:49 PM To: fitzgerald@rootsweb.com Subject: [FITZGERALD] New List Admin Allow me to introduce myself. In the 1920 census you mention above. Bruce is on previous page three families away with a different wife, Sadie. There is a son Roy in both censuses. There are death records for a couple of the other children on Family Search, one that lists the mother's name as Vina Wood, the other as Vina Lock. I only know that he had a sister named catherine, or Katherine. Not sure how it was spelled. Did not know his mom's (my grandmother's) name. I think Joseph and catherine did not keep in touch. Catherine lived in New Jersey. Our family lived in PA and spent summers in New Jersey. I know this is a long shot. Also, I had an Aunt Nellie who lived in Phila. I just came across your post here while also researching this family here in town. I believe your house was built by the Mayor's son, who was David E. FitGerald, Jr. I am researching his mother, Alice Clark FitzGerald, to try to connect her to the other Clark's here in town, especially the Rufus Clark who was a contemporary of hers and who owned the land where my house now stands. (So far, I have only found his wife's connection to the Smith family that lived on the corner of Center and Beecher where Sharon DeKadt and Chris Keevil live now). Would enjoy hearing more about your genealogy searches - especially anything here in Woodbridge. Maybe I'll see you at Pat and Brian's party later this month?
