Looking for the parents of 2 sisters - HARRIET LOUISE "LOU" FITZGERALD 1861-1917 and IRENE FRANCES "FANNIE" FITZGERALD 1852-1888. Both sisters married were married to GEORGE NEWTON COBB. Fannie was married to him first and bore him 8 children. Lou , now widowed with 2 children from her first marriage (married one George W. Bilberry), married George Cobb in December 1888. Fannie died in Union Parish, LA. George and Lou are both buried in Clark County, AR. I cannot find anything on their parents or siblings. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! One family member is a bit of a struggle. He left Philadelphia for New York City. I have only found out a bit today, in fact, as to his whereabouts in that city. Published in the Wills Point Chronicle (TX) Tuesday May 31, 1938: "W. E. Fitzgerald Dies W. E. Fitzgerald died suddenly Monday morning. He was preparing to go to work when he died. He lived on the Phipps place on the Cedar Grove road. A more extended write-up will be given Friday." Published in the Wills Point Chronicle (TX) Friday June 3, 1938: "W. E. Fitzgerald W. E. Fitzgerald suddenly dropped dead at his home, the Phipps farm, just north of Wills Point on the Cedar Grove road, Monday, May 30, at 5 o'clock. Funeral services were held at White Rose cemetery May 31, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Wallace Good conducting the services. Three beautiful hymns were sung in remembrance of Mr. Fitzgerald's noble character. They were "When the Roll Is Called up Younder", "Sweet Bye and Bye" and "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be". Interment at the White Rose cemtery. Mr. Fitzgerald was born August 19, 1881, in Hopkins county, Texas, and was married to June 23, 1901, to Miss Lone Willis, who died Jan. 6, 1919. Mr. Fitzgerald was re-married May 20, 1935, to Marie Edwards. Mr. Fitzgerald was converted and united with the Baptist church in 1902. Surviving besides his wife, Marie Fitzgerald, are four children, three girls and one boy, as follows: Mrs. O. L. Darlin, Mrs. Buck Johnson, Lawrence Fitzgerald, Mrs. Clyde Grisham, all residents of Texas. Surviving are also a step-daughter, Gladys Laverne Calloway, and five sisters Mrs. Annie Green, Point, Mrs. Cordie Birdsong, Durant, Okla., Mrs. Fred Davis, Brashear, Mrs. Mathew Foster, Ridgeway, and Mrs. Eddie Bryant, Alba, - nine grandchildren, a host of more distance relatives and wide circle of friends." Note: This does not mention that his wife, Marie, was pregrant at that time. She gave birth to a son, Ernest E. Fitzgerald, on September 11, 1938.
