    1. [FITZGERALD] Robert Woodson Fitzgerald - Who's his father?
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: hfearless Surnames: Fitzgerald Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fitzgerald/2492/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Can anyone shed light on the father of Robert Woodson Fitzgerald (abt1782 - 1886 Nelson County VA)? I have some trees that show his father to be Bartlett Hawkins Fitzgerald. Others show Robert Woodson Fitzgerald to be the father-in-law of Bartlett's youngest son Benjamin (married to Mathilda Fitzgerald). I have been unable to find anything definitive (documented). I am a descendant from Robert Woodson Fitzgerald and would like to know one way or the other if I am also connected to Bartlett Hawkins Fitzgerald. Thanks in advance. Author: STRQM Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fitzgerald/2405.2.2.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I've honestly never heard of a connection between the Tennessee Fitzgerald line and the line connected to the Kennedy family. I do know that the famous Fitzgerald line came from County Limerick - Thomas Fitzgerald was the immigrant, and was the father of John Fitzgerald, who was the father of Rose, who was the president's mother. Thomas Fitzgerald was the son of Michael Fitzgerald. Thomas was born in Limerick in about 1830 immigrated in the late 1840's or early 1850's to Boston. Our line was already in by America for at least 100 years. I don't know if there are any DNA results out there that could confirm or deny connection, but I doubt they were the same line. Someone would have very probably found the connection by now between the Tennessee Fitzgerald line and the famous line. But who knows? They could be. Our Tennessee line came originally out of Virginia down to Georgia and then into Tennessee, before heading into Texas. But we can't get back any farther than about 1755-65. It's possible the famous Fitzgerald immigrant was following family that was already here - a lot of them did that. It would be interesting indeed if there was a connection! I've never run into the name of John Foster Fitzgerald. Do you have more information about him? Such as names of parents, where they were born, etc. We might be connected somewhere. I just saw your post from 2002 concerning your Fitzgerald family line in York County, Maine, along with interests in Beal and Allen families. I, too, have those families. Olive Fitzgerald (born about 1807) married Isaiah Lewis (born about 1810) on/about 28 OCT 1836. I have searched for years but cannot fint Olive's or Isaiah's parents. However, the 1850 York, York, ME census shows lots of Lewis and Fitzgerald families extremely close to one another. Do you have any definite info on Olive and/or Isaiah? Thanks in advance for anything you can provide. :^) Roy Given rangerroy2001@yahoo.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have been trying to find more information about Amanda and Delia Bowen ( Fitzgerald) for years. Mostly why are Amanda and her mother listed as black on all the census.? I have a picture of Amanda on my tree I see no evidence of that being true. I have not found any record or family member who can tell me why. I just "met" someone who is a great granddaughter of Francis. I am a great grand daughter of Joe. We would both love to hear from you so we can compare information and see what is true and what is not. And if Amanda was black why do I not look like Holly Berry. I could be happy with that. Hoping to hear from you. Mary Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [FITZGERALD] Hugh James Fitzgerald - McMillan Marriage 1933 Seattle, Washington
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: EDCRF Surnames: Classification: marriage Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fitzgerald/2488/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The Seattle Sunday Times Sunday, Morning October 22, 1933 Page 13, Column 8 Little Chapel Is Scene Of Quiet Wedding The marriage of Miss Mary Karns McMillan to Mr. Hugh James Fitzgerald, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Fitzgerald, was celebrated last evening in the Thomsen Memorial Chapel in a beautiful setting of white chrysanthemums, dahlias and candlelight. The Very Rev. John D. MacLauchlan performed the ceremony, which was followed by a small reception at the home of the bride's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril N. Shaw. The bride was very lovely in her gown of white satin, fashioned with a neckline of rose point lace and long tight sleeves slightly puffed above the elbow. A rounded train extended from the skirt, over which fell her long tulle veil, which was caught to her head in a little cap by a row of orange blossoms. Her attendants, Mrs. William Ludden Horsfall, sister of the bride; Miss Lenore Peterson and Miss Betty Smythe, were gowned alike in satin frocks of a deep coral shade. Designed on empire lines, with short puffed sleeves and skirts that extended to the floor, they wore brown satin turbans with tiny veils and brown slippers to match. They carried shower bouquets of Talisman roses. At the reception, Mrs. Buell Blake and Miss Jane Horsfall presided at the supper table and those assisting were Mrs. Richard Lesh, Mrs. Cecil Henry Bacon Jr., Miss Naomi Moran and Miss Bernice Nudd. For traveling the bride donned a blue angora wool frock, with which she wore a black sealskin coat and black accessories. The young couple will be at home after November 1 at 1 West Highland Drive. Mr. Fitzgerald is a graduate of Oregon State College. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
