The rest of us have just had to connect the dots, and some of the two plus two info, that too many people have come up with and put out as fact, just does not add up to four. We can only go by circumstantial evidence. I would love to read John Wilson's article. Of the sons I have seen attributed to George 1739.... John stayed in Indiana, Archibald went to Texas, but later came back to Tennessee, George Jr., from Georgia, went to White Co.IL(part later became Hamilton Co.IL. ,via KY where his children were born, he purchased land in 1836, died June 5,1845,in IL and is buried in the same cemetery as his father George Sr.,He named his children, among others, Samuel, John and William Woodson. William stayed in TN. and Samuel, later, went to Texas. M_McLean Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. George's son William Henry Fitzgerald I know is my gggggrandfather. I have proven my lineage back to William Henry. I have read John Wilson's articles on the men who are believed to be the sons of George Fitzgerald. I have looked at the latest posting with NADAR indicating George's lineage; however, that lineage seems to be in the mid-West. Some of George's sons went to Indiana and all returned to Tennessee except John. George's son George I have no idea where he went to after leaving Georgia; however, it seems George's son George the connection the people used to register with the DAR but I can't make the connection. I would very much like to hear from you. My e-mail address is: helenthib@att.net. Sincerely, Helen Fitzgerald Thibodeaux Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My Dad, John Walter Fitzgerald ("Jack") was born on 5-16-1926 to my grandparents, Joseph Fitzgerald and Margaret Mary Doyle in Newark, NJ. My Dad's brother, My Uncle, Joseph W. Fitzgerald was born on 7-13-1920 to Joseph Fitzgerald and Margaret Mary Doyle - also in Newark, NJ. My grandparents were divorced, so I never actually knew my Fitzgerald side of the family. I was shocked to learn that my grandfather had 9 brothers and sisters - a huge family. My Dad and Uncle were raised by my grandmother's parents - John and Maggie Doyle on 6th Street in Newark. Any info you could provide to me would be appreciated by all of my brothers and sisters. Thank you! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My father was Joseph Fitzgerald's son. His name was John (Jack) and his older brother's name was Joe. Unfortunately, especially back in those days, my grandmother, Margaret Doyle, and Joseph were divorced. As a result, my sisters and brothers and I were never part of the Fitzgerald clan of Bloomfield. In fact, I never even met my grandfather, Joseph, except when I was an infant. Much too much water under the bridge. My brothers and sisters and I (although we are all older now) would love to know about our Fitzgerald family lineage. We had the name but never the history which was sad. My father had told us that he worked with his brother and father at the asbestos company from time to time when he was very young. If you are interested in connecting with me and what I do know, please email me at lulu176@aol.com. My name is Linda. Thank you and I really do hope you reach out. I am looking for more information on them and wondered if anyone had these two in their family tree, or any further information on the Fitgeralds, who I believe could have come from Kilkenny or Cork, I would be grateful for any information relevant to this family tree. Author: wendywhiteconsulting Surnames: Roche Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fitzgerald/2495/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Need help figuring out the rest of my lineage... there seems to be a gap after my 6x great grandfather. His name was James Roche and he was born in Martinique. Burkes Peerage has him listed as 7th in descent from Philip Roche of Scrall and Rahan ( 6th son of David the Great Roche 1st Lord Fermoy) It appears that Cromwell made the family scatter , sold them into slavery and/or killed them... Once they were in Martinique, the Roche family appears to have enobeled themselves... so i am not sure if they went willing or maybe were sent to nearby st.kitts as indentured servants... It is my understanding that the Viscount title became extinct with Ulrick sometime in the mid 1700s. Although , the barony then emerged some 100 years or so later... If anyone knows any lineage that I can track from Philip Roche Of Scrall and Rahan (6th son of David the Great ROche 1st First Lord Fermoy) I would much appreciate it. SO far I have only found that he had two sons.... Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Another cousin has put it together for 20 years and I started doing it a few years ago. If you are interested, please send me your email address. Each issue is about a 2 MB .pdf file.
