Dear Elaine, I'm one of those Silly Canadian Colonials who went dashing off to defend the Homeland in the '40's. I enlisted in the West Yorkshire Regiment in Fulford Barracks in York. (It's now called IMPHAL BARRACKS after a famous stand that the regiment made against the Japanese in Burma.) I had a friend in the regiment by the name of Tom Bickerdike. I believe that he was from somewhere around Harewood. We were in Korea together and I was wounded and discharged from the army. I never saw or heard of Tom again. I very often wonder what happened to him. Would you happen to know of any living Bickerdikes named Tom? He would be about 72+ years old by now. Cheers! Ginger Fisher
