    3. Thank you Rick and Mary for the insight into the Fisher family. I have been stumped on my line for quite a while, and cannot find anyone who links into it. My Fisher family is from Allegheny County, Pa., near Pittsburgh. I can trace a Matthew Fisher to his marriage in 1792. There are several other Fisher's there at that time, and I plan to extensively look at records generated for those men. After reading your post, Rick, I am thinking that perhaps my Fisher family was the Irish Fishers. My Allegheny county ancestors were Presbyterian and the majority of them came from Ireland. Because the Germans and Scotch-Irish didn't intermarry often, and the Scotch-Irish are known to have settled in the Western part of Pennsylvania, I am almost certain now that my Fishers were probably Irish.
