My Fisher's were from Germany my line had the spelling, like Rick stated. My ancestor Adam Fischer Sr. His father's name was Johann Aboslom Fisherback, also Johann Abslom Fischer.b:1684. then another was Absolm Fisher b:1803-d:1887 he marrriedJudith Ora-b:1811-d:1887. then The Barron Fischerbach was the father of Abraham_Jacob_Daniel & AdamJr.This Adam shot a Deer over there which was A Big, NO, NO, so he got sent to the USA with brother Abraham in the 1700's,on The Mary Ann. ship Wilma.
Wilma - Do you know where your ancestor's settled? I have a brick wall at a Ephraim Fisher (b. ~1785) who was married to Catherine Pegg. My Fisher's were from Darke Co. Ohio. The reason your post was so interesting to me is that one of the family names is Absolom. I'm hoping that we may have a match! I'll look forward to hearing more about your Fisher's in America. My Fisher's were from Hunterdon County, NJ. I know that there were Pegg's from Hunterdon County as well. While most of my Fisher's stayed in Hunterdon County, my 4th ggrand father Tunis Fisher moved to Darrtown, Ohio with his second wife Mary Larue. I have lots of Fisher's from this line, but no Ephraim's. Rich Fisher Do you know where your ancestor's settled? I have a brick wall at a Ephraim Fisher (b. ~1785) who was married to Catherine Pegg.
