Fisher and family living in De Moines,Mahaska, Iowa- his wife Mary B Hays(Hayes) is my GGG-Grandfathers niece,The Hays family moved to Iowa in 1856 to Eddyville,Wapello Co. Mary B. was born about 1846 in McDonough Co. Illinois. None of the family names match your search, but possably Cooper is a son of one of your Fishers, or a nephew to Amasa! one of his son's names was Asa.The census also has their childrens names and ages,if you are interested I will give them to you. This is all the info I have on the Fisher family hope it is of some help!

    2. Hi, I have a feeling that your AMASA FISHER could have been related to the Rev. War Vet, JOSEPH JONES JR. JOSEPH'S daughter, LYDIA, married SYLVESTER FISHER S., their son , SYLVESTER JR. married HANNAH HAYES in Richland Co.(later Ashland Co.) OH, around 1826. The names, "AMASA," and "ASA," both are tied to JOSEPH's children and grandchildren. We have no information on the HAYES family. We belong to that Roots site, but, so far, no one knows anything on our HANNAH HAYES-FISHER, who was supposed to have been in Steubenville, OH, 1808. She and SYLVESTER JR. are buried in LOUDONVILLE, OH. Their first son, GEORGE FISHER was born in Perrysville, OH, 1828, but served in the Civil War from Wisconsin. His brother, JOHN B. FISHER, moved to IA, and died in Tiffon, IA 28 July 1929. George came back to OH after the war. My GG Grandmother, MARY JANE FISHER, was born in WI. I would love some information on the HAYES Family! Thanks, Sandy
