    2. Don't mean to rant - but the "REPLY" button is being grossly over-used! The snip I've inserted here ran on for over 1200 lines, just because some of the listers don't know how to reply to a message... Please - clean 'em up - I know some subscribers who've left the list because of this and others who are threatening to leave.. Thanks... 3. What do you mean--maybe people just don't know what to do. 3. The problem we have is when a large number of people become involved in a topic, and each one is simply hitting the reply button and typing in their own message. In most e-mail programs, that will automatically include the previous message as well. Soon these become long and unwieldy, not to mention unnecessary. Further, in Digest mode, the same string may be repeated two or three times in a single digest! Part of learning appropriate e-mail etiquette ("netiquette") is when to include the original message and when to delete it. As a general rule, it is good to include a specific sentence or two that prompted your reply, but to delete the rest of the previous message. Sometimes, this is done by including the word [snip] to indicate the portion that has been deleted, especially if the part you retained appeared somewhere in the middle or near the end of the message. In most e-mail programs, it is possible to view the entire message before sending. At that point, you can still edit, and that is when you should do your [snipping]!!! And, perhaps most important of all, if you are not really replying to the previous message, please remember to change the subject line! Thanks! 3. Sorry Bud, I will be the 1st to admit, I am one of them! Didn't realize what I was doing. Thank you for giving me a wake up call.
