Connie, I have three Michael Fisher's. Born on these dates; 7-3-1767, 5-4-1786 and 10-30-1816. My direct line moved to Canada circa 1800, I do not know if more than my Michael moved. Some of his siblings may have remained and your Michael could have been named after my Michael born in 1786. Then again we could be talking about totally unrelated lines. Bear in mind that my Fisher line is a German Fischer line that changed the spelling when they immigrated in the mid 1700s. Surprisingly of those that spent time in Canada in the 1800s and then came to Michigan circa 1900 added the "c" again reverting back to the Fischer spelling. So my great grandfather and his brother used the Fischer spelling when they came to Michigan but their parents and siblings continued to use the Fisher spelling. Best wishes, Dennis Reiley reiley@usol.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Nicholson" <hspaw2@charter.net> To: "Dennis Reiley" <reiley@usol.com> Sent: Thursday, January 09, 2003 11:26 AM Subject: Re: [FISHER] Re: your fisher line > Dennis--I have a GG Grandfather by the name of Michael Fisher B. 1828 D.
