Hello Cheryl, I recall my mother telling me, when I was very young, that, "All the Fisher boys are named John." I've been stuck at my GGGrandfather for more than 20 years. They all seemed to have been born not too far from Newmarket, Suffolk, the horse-racing center of England. Great-grandfather John Fisher was a Sergeant in the Inniskillen Dragoons in 1859. After his retirement in Edinburgh, Scotland in1880, he moved back to his wife's hometown of Ashton-Under, Lyne, Lancashire, and earned his living as a Riding Master. I have a copy of his marriage certificate to Anne Owens and it gives his father's name as, ... you guessed it.... John Fisher, Blacksmith. It seems that they were all associated with horses. Please keep me in mind if you should come across any interesting connections. Cheers! John Fisher (What else!)
