I have been working since 1976 to flesh out my Husbands' line... I am at a stand still due to lack of evidence that will support my theory... My husband is a lineal descedant of one Henry (Ross) Fisher... the Ross coming from a step father... now here is the rub...everywhere I find Henry's father listed as Daniel Fisher and mother as Nancy Jones ... but this cannot be as Daniel died in 1817 and Henry was not born until 1823... but Daniel did have a son Henry who married a Polly Culp... at sometime after Daniel died...his son Daniel JR took over the homeplace forcing mother Nancy and INFANT Henry out... now this cannot be the same Henry who married Polly... could this be that Henry's son and the that of Polly and because of perhaps Polly's early demise ,that grandmother Nancy took over the raising of her grandson?... when young Henry wed...he wed as a Ross ...the name of the man his mother/grandmother married... so you see my confusion... just want to establish a clear line and wonder if anyone can shed a light on this for me... this line is in Augusta County VA and Fishersville was named for Daniel...
