Jacob Fisher The Immigrant, 1927. This family is descended from Jacob Fisher of Goshenhoppen, one of the first settlers in the Philadelphia (German Town) area. Their generations are: 1.Jacob Fisher, b. c1670, d. 8 Mar 1748; m. Sophia; emigrated to Goshenhoppen in 1727. 2. Hermanus, 1702-1760; m. Margareth 3. George, m. Barbara Eberhard 4. Herman, 1771-1825; m. Mary Cline; emigrated to Upper Canada in 1799 5. Jacob Harmon, b. 8 Jul 1804; d. 8 Feb 1888; m. 1st Jane Ghent; m 2nd Eliza Jane Cummer. The Cummer history is recorded in "Cummer Memoranda", by W.W. Cummer, Hubell Printing Company, Cleveland, 1911. (also mentioned in my book re another Fisher Family) 2. Peter Fisher, 1802-1886, available at the Archives of Ontario, Pamphlet #36, 1984 3. Patent to Herman (Hermanus) Fisher Sr. from the Penns, 1738, available from PA Archives, Series 3, V. 8, pp 263-265 4. The Jacob Fisher Family Some of the descendants are buried in Union Burying Ground, Burlington, Ontario, Canada, and are listed in "Union Burying Ground", by Miller Peart. Descendants of Peter Fisher, brother of Jacob Harmon, established the Fisher Orchards, R.R. #2, Burlington, Ontario, Canada. I have copies of the above references.
