Do you know of any connection to a Jane Fisher who came from Glasgow to Ontario in 1855. She married Aaron Brintnell in 1864 and they came to the US in 1866. The family lived in Sanilac , , Bay and Arenac Co (possibly other counties as well). Jane died in Twining, Mi in 1922 "There are moments when everyhing goes well, but don't be frightened." --Jules Renard
Joye, There may not be any connection but I am also part of a Fisher family in Michigan in the UP. My family came from England to NY and then on to Canada but then many dispersed from there to Michigan. My history os from John Fisher who migrated to Canda and died their in 1856 with a wife Jane from Ireland. There seem to be several distinct family groups of Fishers in Michigan. Our family settled in Barry Co. (central Michigan). A number of these Fishers emigrated from NY state to Michigan, primarily around 1850. They had gone to NY from PA, and were almost certainly from Germany originally. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Select Logging" <selectlogging@skyenet.net> To: <FISHER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, April 12, 2003 7:29 PM Subject: Re: [FISHER] Fisher in Michigan > Joye, There may not be any connection but I am also part of a Fisher family > in Michigan in the UP.
