I think I have found George Washington Fisher on the Final Rolls of the Dawes index (Cherokee). I know that my great grandpa Hamp Fisher built a schoolhouse in Arkansas, I assume Swampoodle. My great Aunt Katie said she attended the school as did some of the other kids. George was born abt 1852 Indiana. I would like to know who his parents were. Hamp was born 1874 and died 1949 in Arkansas. I was told by a great aunt, Hamp's daughter, that Hamp was married the indian way and had at least two other wives. I would like to know if that is true. I have a list of 22 children. My great grandmother (Hamps wife) Vera Mae Davidson Fisher was born in Alabama, that is what my family Bible says and her mother was Ophelia Davidson.
