'Ernie' Fisher, 90 ZANESVILLE - Ernest T. "Ernie" Fisher, 90, of Zanesville, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born Sunday, July 1, 1917, in Muskingum County, Ohio the son of Sim Fisher and Hattie (Early) Fisher. He retired in 1984 from the Muskingum County Highway Department following 16 years of service. He was also a partner along with his brother in Uncle Ernie's Restaurant. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Ernie is survived by one brother, Fred (Ilene) Johnson of Zanesville; two sisters, Josephine Chandler and Juanita Singer of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Singer Fisher who died Dec. 22, 1987; and his second wife, Helen Marie Goins Fisher who died May 1, 1997. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Hillis and Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave.Zanesville, Ohio Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at the funeral home.
