    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: fisherjohnr Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fisher/7515.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: What area of the country was your father born Sarah? Do you know? I'm a Fisher who found out my ancestors name was Fish and they changed it to Fisher in the 1800's. Its going to be a fun and interesting path you are going down. Basically for your Dad you need to get a copy of his birth records and that should give you his parents names. Or if he's old enough you could find him say in the 1930 census if you have an idea where he lived or any of his siblings names and that can give you your grandparents. Let me know what you can (approx birth date for your dad, birthplace or where he lived) and I'll see if I can give you a jump start. In most cases its not as hard as you think. :) Best regards, John R.
