That was a huge help to me. I never was able to make the direct link to his being Charles G. Zwicker's brother. And to find out their parents names was fantastic - takes me back another generation on that side. Would love any other details on Charles Zwicker and Mary Wormser. Now to the Fishers. Our John Fisher, Archibald's father, was born in 1794 in Phila. Pa. He was married to Elizabeth Allen Boyer on July 2, 1824 at Old Swede's Church in Phila. John Fisher's father was Archibald John Fisher (same name as John's son), - Archibald John Fisher was born in 1753 in Northern Ireland. He had a "Letter of Marque" and was a sea captain. He died in 1805, supposedly at sea. John Fisher's mother was Ann Francis Dennis, who was born in 1753 in Philadelphia. She and Archibald were married June 26, 1783 at Old Swede's Church in Phila. Ann died July 28, 1809. Archibald John Fisher (1753-1809) father was John Fisher (seems they kept using same names). This John Fisher was born in Ireland. Archibald J. Fisher's mother was Margaret Knox, also born in Ireland. Ann Francis Dennis's father was Richard Dennis and mother was Hannah Coats, both of Philadelphia. For more on this line I will copy and past below what I have posted on the Dennis board: Richard Dennis - Born March 10, 1722 Elizabethtown NJ. Died January 10, 1797 in Philadelphia. Buried Coats Family Burial Ground (3rd & Browne St. Philadelphia). Bodies in this cemetery moved in 1850's to Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia. Richard's first wife was Hannah Coats (1725-1761). Second wife was Mary Dennis (Died Aug. 29, 1797 at age 69 years.) Children that I know of: Anne Frances, Hannah/Richard (possibly twins), Rebecca, John, Henrietta (married David Ware), Patrick, Elizabeth and Barney Cozens (also known as Barne C. or Barne Cozens) Barney's dates are Aug. 20 1764-Aug. 10 1819). According to sources which I will elaborate later, Richard Dennis was a shipwright and had his own shipyard on the Philadelphia waterfront in the mid to late 1700's. His shipyard was on Swanson Street, down from Old Swede's Church and was right next to shipyard of Warwick Coates, his brother-in-law. Richard's son John was a foreman in his father's shipyard, and son Barney also worked there. According to Pennsylvania Magazine of History & Biography Vol XXVII and to the book "The Philadelphia Navy Yard: From the Birth of the U.S. Navy to the Nuclear Age" by Jeffery M. Dorwart and Jean K. Wolf, Richard Dennis's Shipyard was instrumental in building warships during the Revolution. These references cite other details of his life and work. Richard Dennis was also elected to be on Committee for the city of Phila. (Southwark)for the 1773 Maryland Convention with met at Philosphical Society's Hall in August of 1773. When I return I will write what I know of Richard's parents and compare notes with you. My ancestry traces down from Richard and Hannah's daughter Anne Frances Dennis, who married Archibald John Fisher in 1783. I have more on the Coats line (Richard Dennis's wife, Hannah Coats) - have that line going back to England in early 1700's. And have more on John Fisher's wife Elizabeth Allen Boyer - have her line going back to an Alexander Boyer, a French Huguenot. When I get my entire tree posted on Ancestry I will have details on all this. In the meantime, any other Zwicker details would be appreciated. Charles G. Zwicker, Harry's brother, was my Great Grandfather. His son, Edward Charles Zwicker was my Grandfather and his son, Edward C. Zwicker Jr. was my father.
