It is entitled "Obituary of our mother" and I believe that it was in his scrapbook because when Lula Schmacher died, he adopted one of her small children, Audrey Daisy Schumacher. Most of the people mentioned can be located in the census. The dates of birth, death and age given do not jive but the Illinois Statewide death Index of the Illinois State Archives shows that the death date is accurate and that Lula dies in Union county. Obituary of our mother Mrs. Lula Fisher Schumacher was born Sept, 16 1881. Died Feb 12, 1919, age 38 yrs, 6 months, 12days. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband & six children. three boys & three girls, namely Dan, Mabel, Carl, Emmons, Audrey & Aline. Besides these a mother Mrs. Susan Zeigler of Holts Summit MO, a brother Sheldon Fisher of Mcrae Ark., Mrs. Minnie Dodd of Iowa, Mrs. Iva Lane of St. Louis Mo. Also many friends and acquaintances. Mrs. Schumacher professed faith in the great savior jesus Christ and united with a Baptist church in Mo. thus was ready for this departure. Great is the Sympathy felt by all for the husband and little children who have been so suddenly bereft of a loving wife and mother. The boit is signed "Carl".
