In the name you say and ancestry.com wrote for Hiram in the 1860 Nantucket, MA census(Herain). If you look at the census and look at all the other names that have a small "m" you will notice it is also at the end of his name. The census taker just accidently put a dot above the first part of the "m", so if you don't look real good you would think it was an "i". Also all the same children except Mary E, Thomas G and John H are also in the 1860 Nantucket, MA census. The 3 listed above were not born in 1850 is why they are not on the that census. Do you have the census to look at or were you looking at ancestry.com search. If you do not have them I can send them to you. I would say 99.9% these two are the same. Names, ages, place and birth places are to much alike not to be the same people. It is possible from an 1870 Nantucket, MA census that there was another daughter born same year you say Hiram passed away (1864). The only thing I question is there is also a David W 8 years old. They do not give relationship on this census. Harriet 47 Thomas G 16 Hannah C 6 born 1864 Hiram C 20 David W 8 If you need the census e-mail me Tammy [email protected] Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
