My Fishers may have had Indian blood and I know my GGgrandma Sytha Dawson Fisher was a full Cherokee. HAve you an Alfred or Albert in your tree? Marsha [email protected] wrote: I have a Fisher family that doesn't seem to connect with anyone else's either. My Fisher's are from Indian Territory and Oklahoma after 1838. They were a mixed blood Cherokee family. My line of this family is Fisher Chopper or Hatchet who was the father of Johnson Fisher Sr. and Benjamin Fisher. The children of Johnson Fisher Sr. and Sarah Woodward were Johnson Jr., Moses, Ella, Benjamin and Issac. The children of Benjamin and Jennie were Rufus, Lucy, Jake and Eliza. Johnson Fisher Jr. (son of Sr. and Sarah) had three known children. All of them lived and died in Oklahoma as far as I know. Elizabeth (b. 1898) married Hugh Tuggle. Nancy (b. 1900 - d. about 1955) married Dick Carey and had 9 children with him. A half brother to Elizabeth and Nancy was Ross Johnson Fisher. Ross was the father of Andrew Fisher (1928-2002). If anyone thinks they might connect to this family, I would love to share or exchange information. Thanks.
