I am once again going to put my Joseph F. Fishers out to everyone. He may have been born Mar 11 1837 in either Mercer, Beaver, Lawrence Cty PA or just on the other side of the boarder in OH. His war papers say he enlisted in the Civil war in Caznovia IL. He married Lucy South/Scutt? where ? They divorced between Nov 1865-Jan1866. where? When he returned from war, she had been unfaithful. Before he enlisted in the war they had two boys Buck & Jerry (nicknames?) if an old letter to my grandmother is correct. He was discharged out of the War July 1865. He remarried Mar 11 1866 in "West Liberty, IA to Elizabeth Gates whos father was Peter Gates/Getz/Goetz a circuit rider preacher. This family was in the Stuart, Guthrie County, IA 1880 Census.
