Yes, there may well be a link, Mark isn't that big a place, so it could ndeed be that we are related! My earliest ancestor is a James Fisher, his parents were either Henry and Mary or James and Tabitha, unfortunately there were 2 James Fishers born within a year or two of each other, one to each couple, and I haven't yet been able to establish which James is mine! To this end, I asked the advice of a professional researcher, he wasn't able to find out either, but suggested that I extract all the Fishers from the parish records and piece together who belongs to which family, and examine the incidence of names...which is where I am at the moment. He has extracted the Fishers up to 1850, and I am piecing them together. I can send you all the Fisher baptisms, marriages and burials from the Mark parish records if that would be helpful!
