John may or may not have married a Parthenia XXX and had 2 children, Julia E. Huffsottt (b. 1847) and Mary F. Huffstott (b. 1850). He also married Eliza Jane Leibert/Libert (b. 1839, d. 1915) in or near Beaver Cty, PA. They had 2 sons, Hosea Huffstot (b. 1859, d. 1937) and Charles Lane Huffstot (b. abt 1861). John apparently went off to the Civil War and did not return. Eliza was a poor widow who lived with her sister Hattie. The family eventually moved to Youngstown, Ohio. Hosea married Caroline/a Wolf (1858-1932) and had 3 children, one was my grandfather. Your discovery of Ursula Huffstodt is the earliest one I have heard of. I have heard that my 'Huffstot' relatives came from Ave, Mecklenburg-Schwerin (Germany), date unknown. Does this sound right for Ursula? If any of this sounds familiar, please let me know. I have also heard of a William Hoffstot/Huffstot around the early 1800's and a Rebecca (first wife of John Gorrel). John may have been a sibling or cousin. Clearly, the spelling was phonetic in those days, but I know my information back to Eliza is correct.
