George Washington Fisher was born February 15, 1800 - not sure where! On July 04, 1826 he married Sarah Mariam Spikes in Copiah Co., MS. Children of George Fisher and Sarah Spikes : 1. Joshua Fisher, b. March 25, 1827 2. Elias J. Fisher, b. March 03, 1829, m. Sally Choat December 25, 1848 3. Mary Ann Fisher, b. October 21, 1830 4. William Fisher, b. January 27, 1833 5. Sara Ann Fisher, b. August 03, 1836, m. James Burnett 6. Grisham Hadley Fisher, b. October 09, 1837, m. Susan Kinman 7. Elizabeth Fisher, b. August 05, 1839 8. Matilda Fisher, b. August 14, 1843 9. Mary June Fisher, b. March 16, 1844 10. George Washington Fisher, Jr., b. August 18, 1845 Not sure where the first two children were born, the middle group born in MS, and the last two or three born somewhere in LA. George W. Fisher, Sr. probably died in LA, somewhere near Alexandria, after the last child was born. In 1850, Sarah is found in Harrison Co., TX, married to James Lewis, with them are the seven youngest children. By the 1860 census, they are found in Hunt Co., TX, then after that they are in Van Zandt Co., TX. I'm not positive where the record of the children's births came from. I was told that it was from a family bible, but never have seen proof. Likewise, the information concerning George, Sr. I do have further information about the families of Elias Fisher, George W.
