Good morning to all the FISHER's worldwide! Some time ago I saw a message re: doing a DNA survey of all those related to the FISHER line. Could anyone put me in touch with the person who was organizing this? Are there any FISHERs who trace their ancestry to the Lancashire area of England. My Great-grandfather, John Fisher, was a Sergeant in the Inniskillen Dragoons cavalry regiment. After retiring from the cavalry in 1882, he earned his living as a Riding Master in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire England. Cheers! John Fisher

John, I sent you that information on the Fisher DNA research. It wasn't posted on the Fisher Site. I don't know that I still have that. I will try and find it on the Internet. It is a study being done on Fishers IN England. The premise is that those Fishers in American are really Fischers (Germanic) and those Fishers in England are from Ireland. The theory is that most of the Irish Fishers died in the great plague and that the American Fishers are of no direct connection. This study was to find Fishers from Ireland. Does this ring a bell with you?
