Samson makes me think of Sam's son ... so I did a quick check of the 1850 census for a Samuel Fisher in Highland County, Hamer Township, Ohio, thinking Samuel MIGHT be Samson's father's name. There IS a listing! Unfortunately, ancestry.com is having a problem with its database for that particular county and township and I can't access that page either. On the other hand, I then went to the LDS site to find that a Samuel Fisher married a Margaret Haugham in Highland Co, Ohio ... but on 28 October 1834, several months after Samson was supposedly born. Of course one or both of those dates could be wrong. My suggestion is to find a NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) facility near you. You can find a list of them by going to http://www.archives.gov/facilities/index.html. They have every census on microfilm. Or, your local library might be able to help you. Here's the info as I got it from ancestry.com: Samuel Fisher - 1850 national census - Ohio, Highland County, Hamer Township, page 283. Sampson Fisher - 1860 national census - Ohio, Highland County, Hamer Township, page 180. (The "p" in Samson is the way ancestry.com had it listed. Don't know if that's a typo, or if the census taker wrote it down incorrectly.) Good luck! India
