That's seven generations that are absent. None of my line connects to KY or PA and so far I've not found many connections except in OH. Our progenitor, the founding Fisher, arrived in MA or RI in about 1660 around our just after the four Fisher brothers arrived in Dedham, MA. I can't make the connection but it seems it should link up. So far I've found a lot of "I-think-this-might-be-related" copies showing up in the various genealogy sites, all copied from the same guesswork. Joan, contact me privately if you think you and I have a connection. Jim fish9111@comcast.net Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. You might want to contact Cora on the Palm board to correct your information. Dot had Jane Swartz as well. Edan Palm is Edna. There were more decendants of Mary Elizabeth than those you listed. Rufis is Rufus. At our 1970s reunion, I had about 186 first and second cousins all decended from M.E by way of Edna and Aunt Bertha. There is one copy at the Cincinnati Public Library and one at the Shelby County Library in Shelbyville, Indiana. I have used both copies and make photo copies whenever I am in town since the book cannot be found for sale anywhere. When this was published, the author (my grandfather's second cousin) contacted relatives in the book to see if they wanted to pay the $50 for it. Unfortunately, my grandfather did not, but James S Fisher did provide numerous copies to libraries where Fisher's came from. In this instance, Adam Fisher is buried outside Cincinnati. His son moved to Shelby County - which I and the author are descended from. There is probably a copy in MS and KS as well. GEORGE, born April 30, 1816, in PA, was married in Sangamon Co., Ill, to Mary Hendricks. They reside in Sumner Co., Kansas. SAMUEL B, born Oct. 27, 1817 LOUISA, born March 4, 1819 WILLIAM, born Feb. 20, 1819 CHARLES, born Dec. 24, 1822 CAROLINE, born Sept. 16, 1824 SUSANNAH, born Sept. 3, 1826 MARY, born Dec. 14, 1828 HANNAH M. born May 14, 1831 KATE JULIA, born March 28, 1835 VICTORIA There is quite a bit of information on some of the children, and just a tad on others. I included what was there on George. You and I have corresponded some years ago. I am also researching a George W. Fisher, born 1800 in (I think!) North Caroline. I had my husband DNA tested and the results showed that he was definitely not German. We had a perfect match with a Fisher living now in California. We have traced our Fishers from Texas, back to Mississippi, possibly Arkansas, and North Carolina. George's eldest son, however, said he was born in Sangamon County, Illinois, in 1823. Unfortunately, nothing matches!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. This is my brick wall and I have searched so long. I even paid for a male cousin to have DNA tested and we had NO MATCHES. The Samuel Fisher you mentioned might be a possibility-the date is right and the name used for George W.'s son. Does your book list the names of Samuel's children? I found an old book from Shelbyville, Illinois where my Rev. G.W. Fisher lived that described him as having "dark heavy brows and a stentorian voice teaching law and theology." I paraphrased that-I don't have my papers in front of me. So that tells me he was an educated man. He also played the violin as did his son Samuel. Thank you for any help you can give. I have a book called "History of the Early Settlers of Sangamon County, Illinois". It lists a John B. Fisher, born 05 Sept 1808 in Bourbon County, Ky., married to Nancy D. Webb, born 23 May, 1809 in Nicholas County, Ky. It lists eight children for John and Nancy, along with their spouses. Also listed is a Samuel Fisher, burn 4 Aug. 1787 in Franklin County, Penn.
