Author: LEvans7378 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fisher/2557.2.1.3.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, Carol Here is info I have on Jacob Schilling's daughters with Susan Kaizer Fisher. Again, as I mentioned in earlier post, Jacob is my ggrandfather, but through his third wife, Mary New, not Susan Fisher. Jacob and Susan had 3 daughters: Nellie, Caroline and Edna. Nellie Kassy Schilling, b. 28 Mar 1877, Hay Creek, Goodhue, MN; d. 03 May 1946, Floodwood, MN. Married 23 Mar 1899, Henry Martin Ness, in Stevens County, MN; 11 children. Nellie apparently stayed with Jacob after her mother's death. Caroline, b. 15/16 Aug 1878, Trimbelle, Pierce, WI; d. 04 Feb 1942/43, Red Wing, Goodhue, MN; Married George Arthur Mallan, 11 Oct 1896, Pierce Co., WI, 13 children; Married Elmer Richards , date unknown, 2 children; after her mother's death, Caroline was adopted by her grandparents, Alonzo and Lucetta Fisher. (Pierce County, WI and Goodhue County, MN are across from each other along the Mississippi River.) Edna, the baby, was b. 23 Jun 1880, Red Wing, Goodhue, MN, and d. 12 Jan 1986 in Fort Worth, TX. She was given up for adoption 15 months after her mother's death. She adopted by Jacob and Susan Adams, Minneapolis, MN, and renamed "Calla." When Calla was 16, the family moved to Fort Worth, TX. At 18, Calla married Ferdinand Adam Paul Wallauer. They had 3 daughters, Mary Ann, Gladys, and Calla. He died in 05 Apr 1918, age 44, in Fort Worth, TX. In 1928, Calla remarried Dave Chapman. They had no children. He died in 1932 in Fort Worth. I have info on all of the children of these ladies but there are too many to list here. If you want that also, contact me at linevans@pressenter.com. Hope this is what you were looking for. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. I have Catherine Fisher marrying John Mathias Berry sometime about the 1790s. Guestimate she was born at or after the end of the American Revolultion in Lincoln Co. Her name may well have been Mary Catherine. Can't link her anywhere - so know nothing more. Only reason I wonder if her name was perhaps Mary Catherine Fisher is because her first granddaugther was named for her - while searching for a Catherine Berry, soon discovered her real name was Mary Catherine Berry. Have been able to track Berry lines back to New England and my Foss lines - so I'm a Berry from two different lines: Foss and Fisher. (They had a thing for F surnames, perhaps? LOL) suze EMAILING FOR THE GREATER GOOD Join me > From: SUEWFISHER@aol.com > Date: Sun, 28 Mar 2010 23:03:30 -0400 > To: FISHER@rootsweb.com > Subject: [FISHER] Lincoln County, NC Fishers > > I have been trying to trace my Fishers back from Mississippi in 1826 to > North Carolina before then. 1. Re: [FISHER] Fisher DNA project
    2. Patricia, thank you for the information. I have researched our branch of Fishers back to about 1816 and of course, would like to find more. Mary In a message dated 3/23/2010 7:10:14 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, pacant1104@yahoo.com writes: Hi Mary! The Fisher DNA project is at FamilyTreeDNA. However, the problem I have with the website is that there is no way to determine who is the Most Common Recent Ancestor on the yDNA results page. I suggest that the administrator add a column for the Most Common Recent Ancestor/Patriarch so that others of us can see who the Patriarchs of these families are. For instance, a Fisher cousin of mine took the DNA test, but I can't tell you which results are his. Also, another Fisher male I know of took the test and I can't determine which results are his either. I would like to see how many markers they are off. The submitter's name does not have to be made public, just the last ancestor that they have documented so that others can see if their 'cousins' have tested and determine who else may need to be tested in order to gain a match. From what I understand, my cousin and this other friend did not match, even though the 2 Fisher lines were in the same area at the same time (Greenville/Spartanburg SC.) It would help some of us from having to research in other areas. My particular Fisher line Most Common Recent Ancestor would be James Washington Fisher, SR (RW) of Caroline Co, MD/Greenville-Spartanburg Co, SC/Transylvania Co, NC.He was born abt 1753 in Caroline Co, MD and died in 1832 in Macon Co, NC (present day Transylvania Co, NC). Here is how the Bolling DNA project uses their results: Kit, Last Name, Earliest Known Ancestor per individual, Fh#, Haplogroup, Markers Using this format, I can find that someone has tested for several 'Patriarchs' in the Greenville/Spartanburg SC area and that my particular Bowling's fall into Group 6 somewhere. The results are divided into groups according to the matching markers. (James Washington Fisher, SR's son, James JR married Darcus Bowling in Spartanburg Co, SC in 1815/16. No documented proof of her father's name has been found, but circumstantial evidence of her mother is out there.) This type of format works well for the various Bolling families. I think it would work well for the various Fisher families as well. Patricia Cantrell, Historian Fisher Family Reunion (Lake Toxaway, NC) ==================================== Where can I find out more about the Fisher DNA project and the person in charge. That's a good way to look for ancestors. Our family has done this for another side of the family and we found four close cousins this way and more knowledge about where our ancestors came from. Whether or not you have traced your family tree, join us and discover something about your origins, which documents can never reveal" Here is the description of the Fischer DNA Project from FTDNA. "The Fischer DNA Project is for all who wish to work together to find their common heritage through DNA testing and sharing of information. If your name was angicized from Fischer to Fisher, you are welcome to join this Fischer project. If you believe your ancestry is English, please join the Fisher project. (Fisher is a separate project.) Please visit our website and add your family to the Patriarch Page." I am the Fischer DNA Administrator and we try to have our Earliest Known Ancestors Posted with our results. Sometimes we are not given that information so we post the initials of the contact person. On our Patriarch Page, we post the pedigree along with the contact person's name and contact information. We also have some Pedigrees of folks who have not yet tested for various reasons such as waiting for test results or looking for a connection.
