She was born in April 1850 in Berlin, Prussia, Germany. She married (Carl) William Knippel in July 1870. I believe that they were married in Chicago, but I am not sure. Anna Rose had a brother named August who was born in 1847. I know a lot about Anna Rose's family and descendents in Chicago. I am specifically looking for any information about Anna Rose, her brother August, her parents, and any other information in Germany. Thanks, Susan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: barryroach123 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fisher/4109.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello Linda, I can't shed any light on your Fishers in MO except to say that my paternal grandmother was Ollie Fisher who was married to Frank Edwin Benjamin, Sr. They spent their entire married life in the White County area of Indiana. I known almost nothing about Ollie except that her mother's name was Elizabeth b:abt 1865. According to a 1930 census she lived with my grandparents and was a widow at that time. I can remember some conversation about both Frank and Ollie having relatives who moved from MO to IN but little else. I am attempting to trace her family tree but have hit a VERY BIG brick wall. If you can shine any info on her line please let me, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sunny Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If I had your complete e-mail address I could e-mail you the outline for the whole Fisher family as I have it. I would have to print out the generation chart for the notes that I have. I would need your home address. I don't know much about Hugh Dunn other than what is in the book. Hugh Dunn's father, William was a brother to my grandmother. I was wrong when I said that Hugh Dunn was a brother. I was born in Steubenville, so we did all our research there. Now live in NH and FL in winter. Did you read the post that mentioned my husband doing a characterization of the Rev. Hugh Dunn Fisher? I made a Civil War Chaplin's coat and away we go! We've done a great deal of research about the Rev.! Mostly Kansas, where we live, but also traced his circuit in Steubenville and western Penna. several years ago. If you want any more information or would be willing to share something you have, that would be great Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He also always told me that they came from wealth in the old country, had land, horses and talked of fox hunts. My father passed away in 1969 and he probably never heard of a genealogist. He was just passing on stories that he had been told by his father and grandfather. Thank you for the information. He sounds like an interesting man! Author: dawills38 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fisher/3469.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I don't think that Hugh Dunn Fisher is part of your family- but my husband could answer that better. Hugh Dunn was born March 13 or 14, 1824 in Stuebenville, Ohio. His father was William born Mar 26, 1793 (don't know where- but he spoke German and Hugh Dunn says his name should have been Fischer) Hugh Dunn's mother was Isabella Fisher; grandparents John Christopher and Elizabeth Bratton Fisher. Hugh Dunn was also a Methodist Circuit rider in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania- part of the Pittsburgh Conference. He came to Kansas 1n 1858 to serve as pastor of the Leavenworht Methodist Episcopal church. He served a number of churches in Kansas, was a Chaplin with Lane's Brigade in the Civil War, wrote an autobiograph- The Gun and the Gospel. Quite a character. Don't know about DNA- my husband and I ARE NOT related- only fascinated with the man and his stories. There is one living descendent in Topeka, KS (male) David Fisher Jr. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
