One of the reasearchers is working on obtaining pictures of Natale as an older woman which be a nice addition. I don't have any spellings of Fisher with a "C" in my findings going back to 1827. The reason I asked about religion was Natale's mother was attended at death in her home by a Rev. Baer of the Mennonite religion. That obit is posted at my Ancestry account. Thanks for your intrest. Author: karenflory1973 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fisher/7775.1.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: absolutely. All I know of with respect to the religion is that my grandfather converted from protestant to catholic to marry my grandmother. Not sure what religion Cloyde Otto practiced. It may have been the same. I know that my grandfather remembered Uncle Ott because he had told us a few stories of him when I was younger. Not that I actually remember them. Hopefully that helps. Beyer (the s was added with George Washington Beyers)comes from Nieder Harpersdorf, Silesia, Germany . They came here in the 1730's. (Melechoir, Abraham, Andrew, Daniel, Daniel, Benjamin then George the father of Cloyde Otto) Unfortunately all I have is Natele Fischer. Notice the difference in spelling though. That might help you out. Natele and Otto I believe are burried with the rest of the family at Arlington Cemetary in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. I know that his brother Gray Meloy is burried there along with William Uriah (my gggrandfather) Gray Meloy spelled his last name Beyer. Arlington is a non denominational cemetary. Not sure if the cemetary would have record of the religion. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My interest in the Beyers family at this time is only in connection with details of the Fisher marriage. Aspects of my interest are what religion they practiced as a married couple, what religion both brought to the marriage, both families nationality ( in what country does the family name originate). The reason is my research of the Fishers has hit the brick wall and I need a clue to look further into the past. That being said, I have been contacted by two other Beyers researchers that i am sure would love to share your research. So, if you will allow me I will pass along your contact information to them. I will await you approval. If you can push back the Fisher family I'd love that, Thanks again, Wm. Fisher Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My grandfather (Early William Beyers) would be his grand nephew. Cloyde's father would be George Washington Beyers if these are one in the same. Cloyde's brother would be William Uriah Beyers. If this is the same family please contact me. I could be of great help in the Beyers tree for you. 1. [FISHER] Fisher mtdna Results from Hatteras Island, NC
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: RobertaEstes13 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fisher/8040/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The DNA results are beginning to come in now from Family Tree DNA for the Hatteras Family Reconstruction project. This is focused on Hatteras Island in current Dare, former Hyde and Currituck Counties in NC. As they do, we post the genealogy and explain how this works, of course, with the hope that others will see the benefit and want to test as well. Between all of us, we can reconstruct many of the early settlers who are our ancestors - and lots of people can benefit. Here's why. When someone tests for a particular line - anyone descended from that line benefits. With mitochondrial DNA, which is the maternal line - there is little question about "who's your mother", so we assume that all descendants share the same DNA info, and those descended through females only carry the same mtdna. On the male lines, we presume that unless there is an undocumented adoption of some sort, that the yline (paternal - surname) DNA matches all the men who carry the surname - however - because we're also skeptics and realists - and undocumented adoptions did happen - we encourage men of this line to test to be sure you match the line you think you match. Also, Native people adopted the surnames of their neighbors and those they admired - so we expect to find Native folks carrying white surnames, probably of their neighbors - but not matching the neighbors DNA - so when we post the y-lines, please consider testing if you haven't. This group of women share their genealogy and their mitochondrial DNA. This DNA participant is haplogroup K, also European, but less common than haplogroup H. 1. participant 2. mother 3.
