In 1937 she lived at 110 Evergreen St., Harrisburg. That August she went to a Kreider-Greider Association Family Reunion with an old Greider family bible. I have a letter from the association's historian to a Greider kin in Kansas. It is a horrible transaction ! But I can see enough truth to know that someplace 3 or 4 levels back it came from an original source. Anyone know where that family bible is ? Any help greatly appreciated David

Hello! I'm re-posting information on my Sarah Fisher in the hopes that some newbie out there can help me. She was born 1819/22 Cayuga County, NY. In 1841 she married David S. Morehouse in Gorham, Ontario Co., NY. I believe she died 1875/77. I'm looking for birth date, death date, place of birth and death, parent's names. I have found the family of Samuel Fisher and Jane Wilson. I'm trying to find out if they are Sarah's parents. They are from Gorham and they have two other girls born in the 1820's. Sarah would fit right in there. They had seven children, but I only know about these two girls - Eliza and Maria. If anyone knows of this family or my Sarah, I would love to hear from you. TIA. They are the parents of Olive Fisher bride of my William Nichols I will look into the one you mentioned for I am trying to sort out all of them. I went through my research but didn't find anything else on George and Nancy. I did find a George enlisted in Geneva NY this is one of ours but it must be father for he enlists 0ct 10 1813. I do hold a copy of George Fisher's Will Ontario Co.NY, in which it mention Humphery brother of George and other children as well as his wife Rachel. I assume you know that Your George had a brother Humphery who lived in Yates Co. NY which my Olive is daughter of, Christopher, and sister Catherine

Rodney, I'm sure we have a connection, but it will take some work to figure it out. I'm working with a couple of people from these boards to try to figure out who fits where in the FISHER pile from NY...we all have different pieces, and they aren't always in agreement. This is what I have that probably relates to your family: GEORGE FISHER born 1759 Rhinebeck, NY,d. 1835 Geneva, Ontario, NY, m. RACHEL INGRAM. Children: HUMPHREY FISHER, b. 1784 Rensselaer Co.NY, d.1873 Prairieville, MI, m. ELIZABETH FRANCISCO B. 1793, D. 1851 in MI. (They came to MI about 1850). One of the other researchers has other children listed for George as follows: CATHARINA b. 1789, GEORGE b. 1793, CHRISTOPHER SR. b. 1802, d. 1884, Ontario Co., NY. It's possible that this George is in your line. Richland, Kalamazoo, MI is just a few miles from Cressey and Prairieville, in Barry Co. where most of mine went. Somehow they are probably all connected. Contact me directly if you have comments/questions. ----- Original Message ----- From: <rod54ney@aol.com> To: <FISHER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 27, 2002 12:30 PM Subject: [FISHER] George Fisher/Nancy ? Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YVW.2ACEB/922.942 Message Board Post: I want to remind FISHER searchers that some can purchase ($27.00) a copy of the SS-5 form filled out by the person when he applied for a social security card. It would list names of parents, etc. And maybe a middle name. Further information on the SS-5 is at the Rootsweb version of the online Social Security Death Index : http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi The online SSDI is mainly for post-1962 decedents. The Social Security Administration was not informed of all deaths. And many people (such as storeowners) may never have owned a card. What I don't know is whether one can obtain a copy of the SS-5 for pre-1962 decedents who are not on the online SSDI. The middle name might appear on the federal censuses of 1910, 1920 and 1930, all of which are available. It might appear on the marriage certificate or original birth certificate. Or on a baptismal or hospital record or school yearbook. The proper archive to apply to for civil birth, marriage and death records are listed in the online publication, "Where to Write for Vital Records," by the National Center for Health Statistics. Good luck to the FISHERs from [Mr.] Reg Niles. RegNMINiles@cs.com

I cannot get past these two people and am hoping that their names will match with someone's elses research and tree. What I know: George Nicholas Fisher (Fischer) b. Dec. 26, 1818 in Coburg, Germany d. Dec. 20, 1893 in Missouri married Harriet Stouffer (Stofer) b. Nov. 25, 1835 in Onton Blarivus, Switzerland d. July 21, 1938 died in Knox County, Missouri George and Harriet had 9 children. William Francis Fisher (b. April 07, 1876; d. Nov. 02, 1944) was their last born and is my great-grandfather. I have further info on the remainder of the family, but would like to get information on George and Harriet (parents names, siblings, etc.). The story goes that my great-great-grandfather removed the "C" from the last name to "disguise" his identity once he got to the United States. I hope someone can help! Amy :-)
