Hi, Roger... I've gotten some info from a NY researcher about our Fisher family. She doesn't say much about your George, only "They had George Fisher, the first child born 25 Sep 1812, married Nancy _________. He died and is buried in Prairieville, MI." I'm leaving today on vacation for the rest of Sept. I've asked another Fisher researcher to contact you for your address, and to mail you the page in question. I'm sure that the illegible name IS Humphrey. We already have two others, including your George's father and brother. There are several George's, too. Debbie, I am familiar with Nankin Mills Township which is now in Livonia, Michigan. Wayne County. As Detroit suburbs expanded and grew - Nankin Mills was engulfed. There is a lot of history recorded for this area and Nankin Mills museum. I have Fishers in WV in my line also. Frank Fisher and wife Nancy Fisher are ggg grandparents. They are in 1880 census, Poca, Kanawha, WV. Frank was 59 and Nancy was 57. I think we may have found a connection in our family trees. I don't know if you know about our line of Fishers. Isaac R. Fisher from Webster County, WV ("Boss" as most called him) was my great grandfather; he was married to Laura Buckhannon. Maynard Glenn Fisher and Sylvia Cogar (who was from near Wildcat, WV) were my grandparents. Ever here of any of them? I'm curious to see.
