I have no idea where this family was located. My husband purchased it off of Ebay from someone in Florida who purchased it in an estate sale. There is no telling where this family was living at the time because there is no reference to a place name, etc. anywhere. I have tried to respond to previous replies to my original message with a listing of the names of the children, but for some reason, either because of Rootsweb or my computer, I have been unable to reply. I will try again here in case this time it works. The children are: Ruth b 11/13/1893 Harold J. b. 11/14/1895 Harriet Alma b. 11/8/1897 Earl Henry b. 1/7/1901 Charles Edward b. 7/22/1906 Russell Lewis b. 4/18/1913 I hope this helps you or someone looking for their family.

Okay, here it is: Bruce, I am sorry to be so long in answering. I teach 6th and 7th grade gifted-talented students a humanities course, and we are completely entrenched in a research project this week. On top of that my daughter's schedule is PACKED, and I am her chauffeur! At any rate, I cannot tell you how excited I am at the possibility of finding a new connection! I am fairly new to genealogy; however, some of my ancestors have done quite a bit of work for me, so the job is not as daunting as it could be. I have a great deal of information on Orcenith Fisher and his first immediate family (he married twice). He was an original settler and preacher in the Republic of Texas, so his trail is rather easy to follow. I am connected to his first marriage, although his second wife was very fascinating. He wrote several books, stood as editor of Texas' earliest periodical and established interracial Methodist-Episcopal churches throughout early Texas, and in California and Oregon. If you are interested in his family, I have a great deal of data I will be happy to send you. My phone number is: 940-387-1097 and I am home after 6:00 (Central Time) on weekdays and on weekends I am home when I am not being my daughter's chauffeur and social director! Don't worry; be happy. Judi

Thanks, but your John B. is not in my immediate Fisher line. I do believe, however, that I am related to the person who introduced this thread a couple of weeks ago. However, I seem to have lost him! brucefisher118, did you get my email? Don't worry; be happy. Judi

in hopes it helps some one. Lena The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday February 20, 1954 Miss Mattie Fisher. Miss Mattie FISHER, 76, of 615 East 18th, died Friday in a Topeka hospital. She was born in Muskogee, Okla., also had lived in Topeka 40 years. She was a member of the ????? Spiritual Church. Her husband, Thomas FISHER died in 1946. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leola CUSHINBERRY and two stepsons, John and William FISHER, all of Topeka.
Jim - It doesn't look like there is a connection, but my line of Fishers was also from Baltimore and Baltimore County. Some relatives were from the area of Butler, Maryland, which at the time (there was a question about the location of the Mason-Dixon line) was considered to be part of Pennsylvania. In actuality it is in Northern Baltimore County. I don't have all of the dates handy, but I'll give you a list of names you can compare to yours. Maybe you can find a match somewhere. George Fisher (Naturalized as a citizen of the British Colonies in North America 1764) Originally from Germany. Place of residence shown on naturalization papers as Baltimore County, Maryland. George Washington Fisher (son? grandson? of above) George Washington Fisher, Jr. Edgar (NMI) Fisher (son or brother of above) ca 1849 - ca 1933 - Wife Julia Almina Wells Edgar Wells Fisher - 1890-1949 - Wife Ethyl Young Donald Wells Fisher - 1922 - still living - Wife Doris Redman Laughlin All of these (and some siblings and children) are buried in Loudon Park Cemetary, Baltimore, MD, with the exception of my dad (last on the list), who is still living, and the first George Fisher on the list. Not sure where he is. Family legend has it that George Fisher was a teenaged orphan from Germany. His uncle was an architect of some reknown who corresponded with George Washington and arranged for his nephew to travel to the British colonies here under George Washington's care. Let me know if you find any links because I'm stuck beyond what I can find on the grave markers at Loudon Park. I too am looking for Fisher in MD. Jackson Fisher, born about 1825 in or around Emmitsburg, MD. His mother was named Ann (or Anna) and he had a brother John. Wow, lots of info,,,,lol. But he served in the Civil War and died a prisoner in Andersonville.
