    2. I am trying to get more information on my great, great grandfather, John FISHER and his wife Sally MASON. My records show they both were born or at least lived in, Dauphin Co., PA. Both born in 1819. Five of their 13 children were born in PA. They went to Illinois in 1849 where the rest of their children were born. I notice in your posting that your Samuel FISHER married Mary COPE in Dauphin Co., PA. Do you have any siblings for Samuel? Will appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. Kay

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Patterson/Fisher Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YVW.2ACEB/3754.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Sorry I did not answer right away. I have not been able to get on the message board. If you wish to answer please email me directly at imagery@bellsouth.net. I do not have very much info as the Fisher's in Greene Co., Il. were my line so I did not go done all the other paths. James was born in Ireland in 1817. He is shown as a wagon maker on the census records. He married Elizabeth Fisher 8-22-1844 in Greene Co., Il. but they moved to Scott Co., Il. where he died between 1850 and 1860. He and Mary had John b. 1845 in Scott Co., Mary b. 1848 in Scott Co. and William b. 1849 in Scott Co. James shows on the 1850 census for Scott Co. with his wife and family. However on the 1860 census he is not listed, but his wife and children are. Elizabeth remarried to a James Jetton in 1861 in Scott Co. By the dates of the census, the last child being born in 1849 and her remarriage in 1861 I figure he probably died around 1855 or so. Most women with children tried to remarry soon to hav! e someone to help support and protect them back then. Do not know if this will help or not. Good luck on your search. Those are the only Patterson's on my list. If you have other names in Greene Co. Il. let me know. Most of my people are from their in the 1800's. kfr
