    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Fisher/Fischer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YVW.2ACEB/3812 Message Board Post: I am looking for FRIEDRICH FISCHER, born about 1710 in the Rhenish Palatinate in Germany, and who migrated to America prior to 1750 and first lived in Frederick County, Virginia. He married a SYBILLA while still in Germany, and had six children: George, Jacob, Martin, Charles, Frederick, and Anna Maria. All the children also migrated to America with their parents. I am descended from Charles. I have read that FREINSHEIM in the Palatinate is supposed to be the home of this branch of the Fischer family. There is uncertainty about their exact origin because of the destruction of the region during the Thirty-Years War. If you have any information regarding this person, please email: sokolfarm@aol.com

    1. Re: [FISHER] Re: Fisher, Chesnut/Chestnut, Morgan
    2. Hi Judy This ancestry research is so frustrating. My Mary Clementine Chesnut's mother and father were Felix and Harriet (Wade) Chesnut. He was born in 1836 and she in 1845. Their daughter Mary C. Chesnut (b. 1861) and my great-grandfather William Stanley Fisher (b. 1854) were married on November 9, 1882. I have several "John Chesnuts" (4) in my Chesnut line, but they are all in the 16 and 17 hundreds. I know my Dad spoke of an Uncle Tom, but I wasn't doing any research while he was alive. Maybe there is a connection there, but right now I don't see dates lining up. I live in Illinois, and I want to get over to Indiana to do research. I'll keep your e-mail and if I find a connection, I'll let you know. Barb Fisher Holliday

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YVW.2ACEB/3641.2 Message Board Post: I am sure that there must be some connection between your Fisher/Chesnut relations and mine. My gfather Frank Fisher married Mary Levina Chesnut on Oct 19, 1916. His father was Thomas Fisher, born about 1863. All this happened in Daviess County Indiana. Mary L. Chesnut Fisher's father was Jackson Chesnut; his father was John N. Chesnut; his father was Julius C. Chesnut and so on back to William who came from Uk. I am having trouble tracing the Fisher line but it is possible that your Fisher might be the brother of Thomas Fisher. I am near a great genealogical library in Houston, TX and plan to do some further research on the Fisher line. Does any of this make sense or does it help you at all? Judy Fisher Williams
