    1. Re: [FISHER] TWO Fisher lines?

    3. I would love to be able to tie my line into someone else's. The following is what I have: Jacob Fisher born 1822 (according to census records both his parents were born in PA) married Sarah Elisman and had Eli (born 1848) and Henry born 1858. I don't know what happened to Henry. Eli Fisher married Maggie Wombaugh and had George (born 1871) William (born 1872) and Jacob (born 1878). I don't know anything about George. William lived with an uncle on his farm and never married. Jacob married Sarah Jane Mathews and had Harrold born 1898 (Harrold died in infancy) and Elsie born 1900, twins Maud and Mabel born 1903, M. Elizabeth born 1912 and Esther born 1920. Elsie had my grandmother and down on to me. I come from the 2nd Jacob's line. They all lived around Solebury PA. Some of them are buried in Carversville Cemetary and others in the Solebury Bucks County. I can't get any further back than the Jacob born in 1822. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. 3. Hi all, I have a Weaver family web site....My mother was a Weaver...At one time I had a Baumgardner site....right now I have over 200 members on my site.....as of yet, I have not metr one on my site that is related to my family....BUT, it is great to see all the old Weaver family photo's.....the tree's that are added to the site gives us all a chance to see if our families tie in to one of the other families....we also have postings from almost all on the site...we all help one another out in our researching....with each of us living in different states we all do our best when someone needs a look up or help and especially when it is so hard for some to travel to get verification on their families...i've sent marriages...land deeds and so on to different folks via snail mail....we NEED a site for all to be able to go to on a daily basis as my Weaver families do....Oh, My Gr Grandfather married a Fisher...Amy Belle Fisher...the daughter of George A. Fisher and Lavinia Belle Hurl/Hurrell. I have alot of Fisher's including some that are not in my family....once the site is up and running I will add all these photo's with the hopes that we all can see them whenever we need to! Just my two cents! 3. I read somewhere quite some time ago, and I really wish I could remember where, that there were 3 major fisher lines in the US. I don't believe this means there aren't other lines just that there are 3 main ones. Does anyone know more about this? 3. Jan, Are you certain there are only two lines? Mine is German Pennsylvanian; Jacob Fisher (1743-1827) and Marie Schedecher (Unk-1829) who had ten children. 3. It is a very good idea but I wouldn't be able to handle gedcoms at the moment. There are plenty of places online where you can upload your own gedcom and it is very easy to do. I had mine online until yesterday when I removed it to make room for my new pages. I would be happy to link to anyone that has a gedcom online and maybe in the future I could provide a place where we could download gedcoms. I want to thank everyone for the enthusiam, advice and encouragement you are sending my way I have begun and I have one small page of photos up http://www.geocities.com/kyramk/fisher.html I only post the address in this early stage so people can see what I am up too. I have listed a few categories there to give you a general idea of the types of things I would like to post. I still have f ew things that people have sent that I haven't yet posted, don't worry, I will get to you and I just realized that I haven't posted anything of my own! I don't have much, but I am sure I have something to contribute. I also just realized that I don't have the name and email of the contributor of each photo posted, I will get to that soon too One category I don't have listed is and I really want to have is Fisher brickwalls. If you can think of others to add, just let me know. Thanks again for your encouragment and support! 2. Hello list! So far I have just been an observer on the list, but now may be a good time to ask if anyone has a George Washington Fisher, b. 15 February 1800. I do not know who his parents were, nor do I know where he was born. The first positive information I have on him is his marriage to Sarah Mariam Spikes on July 4, 1826 in Copiah County, MS. The marriage date comes from Early MS Marriages - Before 1850, and his birth date came to me from a relative who found it in an old family bible. All suggestions are appreciated. Sue Fisher

    3. Mary - Did those JPEGs I sent come through ok? I know they were kind of large. I scanned the doc on pretty high resolution because my copy is not of the best quality, and I didn't want to lose any more in the scan than I had to. 3. Hi Carol - My Fishers entered America in 1749 via Philadelphia. In 1851 they bought property in Codorus Township, PA, which is just southeast of Hanover, and just over the line from Maryland, just about in the middle of the state. If your family were from NE Pennsylvania, there probably aren't any connections, but anything's possible. If you want to take a close look at what I've got I could email you a copy of my GEDCOM file, or if you want to give me some names to look for in my file I'd be happy to do that for you.
