The dates for other family members written on the Bible pages I have, have been proven to be true. I think the dates for my Andrew (b 1828 d 1877) are mostly likely to be correct. When Andrew married the second time he, stated that he and his father were born in Kentucky and his mother in Virginia. Thanks again, Joan,

    2. Hi, I have a feeling that your AMASA FISHER could have been related to the Rev. War Vet, JOSEPH JONES JR. JOSEPH'S daughter, LYDIA, married SYLVESTER FISHER S., their son , SYLVESTER JR. married HANNAH HAYES in Richland Co.(later Ashland Co.) OH, around 1826. The names, "AMASA," and "ASA," both are tied to JOSEPH's children and grandchildren. We have no information on the HAYES family. We belong to that Roots site, but, so far, no one knows anything on our HANNAH HAYES-FISHER, who was supposed to have been in Steubenville, OH, 1808. She and SYLVESTER JR. are buried in LOUDONVILLE, OH. Their first son, GEORGE FISHER was born in Perrysville, OH, 1828, but served in the Civil War from Wisconsin. His brother, JOHN B. FISHER, moved to IA, and died in Tiffon, IA 28 July 1929. George came back to OH after the war. My GG Grandmother, MARY JANE FISHER, was born in WI. I would love some information on the HAYES Family! Thanks, Sandy

    2. Dear Elaine, I'm one of those Silly Canadian Colonials who went dashing off to defend the Homeland in the '40's. I enlisted in the West Yorkshire Regiment in Fulford Barracks in York. (It's now called IMPHAL BARRACKS after a famous stand that the regiment made against the Japanese in Burma.) I had a friend in the regiment by the name of Tom Bickerdike. I believe that he was from somewhere around Harewood. We were in Korea together and I was wounded and discharged from the army. I never saw or heard of Tom again. I very often wonder what happened to him. Would you happen to know of any living Bickerdikes named Tom? He would be about 72+ years old by now. Cheers! Ginger Fisher

    3. That is because some folks got snippy about sending messages back and forth. Now no one wants to be accused of wasting someone elses time by forcing them to read messages - not that they have free will and couldn't delete messages that are not pertinent to them. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wilma Parrish" <WilmaParrish@webtv.net> To: <FISHER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 24, 2003 10:25 AM Subject: Re: [FISHER] Fisher from PA > Mine is Adam Fisher. 3. I have a new email address. And due to the help of my fathers cousin, I have a picture of Isabelle Fisher-Kemper and the children of Matilda Fisher-Huff. I was taken in Decatur, Ill in 1915. There are at least 50 people in the picture. There are Huff's and Kempers which shows me that these two women must have been sisters. In 1915, Matilda had already passed away as had her husband Gershom and William Kemper, husband of Isabelle. I also have a letter from William Kemper to his brother. In it he mentions his Huff relatives. I would be happy to send a copy to anyone who would like it. Judy & Mark Wilkinson judymarkw@comcast.net
