There is no content of their own. In order to get the "5-day free trial" you have to surrender a credit card or bank account number. You have to cancel within 5 days or you get dinged. Guess what? The cancellation e-mail bounces. Does this surprise you? One person who recently fell for the come-on had his/her account dinged not once, but twice. It is time to remind folks on your state and county mailing lists about these scoundrels. It has been a couple of years since we have mentioned this. Permission is granted to pass this on. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! by the way, after I return from Milwaukee and get this mess in the house from the flood in order, I'll try to get up to Gibson County and research Fishers....I'll print off your info and what I know of my Fishers and see what I can find. I'm in Vandenburg County -- just to the south of Gibson. Knox is to the North of gibson. Posey is right next to Vandenburg....so you can see how it well could be both our lines. Suze-- As of yet, I haven't found any Armstrongs with my Taylors, but I haven't dug that deep on the Taylor's yet. I got on a roll with the Fisher's so I just kept going until I hit "dead end Daniel". Brewster has not come up at all. There are some Armstrongs in Franklin County IL where my Fishers ended up but I haven't made their connection yet. My Fishers were in Gibson/Posey County Indiana. Julia Armstrong Fisher remarried Benajah Gragg in 1813 in Gibson County and then disappears. Her siblings were Miles, Sarah, Elsberry, Nancy, John H., and Kirby Reuben -- do any of these folks sound familiar? Daniel and Julia's sons were Daniel B., Jackson John, Thomas W., and Jordan A. Fisher. Jordan was born in 1808 and according to the 1880 census, he was born in KY. I can't find any of his other brothers (and I don't know of any daughters) on the 1880 census so I am at brick wall central at the moment. If any of this sounds remotely familiar, please feel free to e-mail me directly at lpitassi@earthlink.net. Hello Cuzzin...my Catherine Fisher is one of your Fisher descendents...Wow! I finally know they were German... I know she married John Berry, I thought she was born in Buncombe, but I'm wondering if I'm mixing my Berrys and Fishers (as opposed to Apples and Oranges)...Your info shows her born in Catabwa, which is certainly possible, since the Berrys are found in Catabwa, Buncombe, Lincoln, Gaston and Meeklenburg Counties of NC. I am also a Kennedy descendent...from Buncombe County, I think it was, but must check. My Kennedy(also spelled Canaday/Canada) married Whitaker...my Mary Whitaker's parents were a William and Mary Canaday-Whitaker. Wonder if there's a connection there as well? The Whitakers are named among the old Bumcombe Pioneers. Suze ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan M. My Daniel was b abt 1778 in NC he married Julia Armstrong from Tyrell County NC and moved to KY then Indiana where he died from wounds incurred at the Battle of Tippecanoe in Nov 1811. That's all I know of him. I'm not sure whether he married Julia in NC or KY as the Armstrongs seem to have made the same trek as he did. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Suze" <lfox48@netnitco.net> To: <FISHER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 2003 8:15 PM Subject: Re: [FISHER] Re: Fisher, Thomas J.& Alyce J., Scotts Creek, Jackson Co., NC > My Fishers are from Buncombe Co, NC...My Catherine Fisher might be a sib to > your Daniel's father...do you have further info?
