Cindy, Hi, I have two ABIJAH FISHER'S in my family tree. My 6th. and 7th. great-grandfathers were(ABIJAH SR. and JR.) in MA. My 4th great-grandfather, SYLVESTER FISHER JR., was born in VT 1805. His father, SYLVESTER FISHER SR. married LYDIA JONES, daughter of Am. Rev. War Vet., JOSEPH JONES JR. You will find many references to the ABIJAH'S in the different MA county histories. If you would like to check what we have on our web site, go to www.kenparrish.com. There you will find a SURNAME LIST. This is the family that I have had my most frustration!!!!!!! If you could, check to see if SYLVESTER and LYDIA could have been in MI between 1850 and 1860. I have tried to find them after the 1850 census. Then they were living with a person I assume to be their son, JOSEPH (possibly, JONES) FISHER. SYLVESTER was, about 81, LYDIA in her 70's. Would love to connect with your FISHERS!! On our web site is a picture of my 3rd. great-grandfather, and some of his siblings, GEORGE FISHER, who was the first son of SYLVESTER(JR.). SYLVESTER'S wife was, HANNAH HAYES. They are buried in LOUDONVILLE, OH, ASHLAND OH. GEORGE was a Civil War Vet, he joined in WI, but, I do not know what took him to that state. He married in Columbus OH, 1864, and my GG-grandmother was born in WI, 1864. Take a look and maybe we can connect.... I am searching for the family of Adam and Maggie Fisher who emigrated from Scotland (Glasgow, I believe) in 1855. I know they had a daughter Jane, who married in Ontario in 1964 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1866, but this is about all I know for sure. Hi I was reading your post and just thought I would thrrow my Fisher line at you. My grandfather, Charles C.W. Fisher, was born abt. 1883 in Buffalo, Putnam Co. WVA. I don't know his parents names, but was told his Mother's name may have been Rebecca. At some point in time he must have gone to KY, because that is where he met and married my grandmother, Josephine B. Heinzenburg. Their 1st child, Raymond William, was born somewhere in Ky. Ray was murdered in Iraq in March 1934 by Arab theives. He was there working his way around the world for his Master's thesis. Their 2nd child, Reba, was born in Ohio in 1911. She was my Mom. Charles & Jo were divorced sometime between 1916 and 1918. He later remarried a woman named Belle and moved to Fl where they resided when Ray died. At that time CW was the sanitation commissioner in Hialeah. I can't find a thing on him except what I have told you. I can't seem to find a death certificate either. My Mom spoke to him in 1953 and that is all I can find on him. He is listed in the 1920 and 1930 census indexes. But it seems that the pages he is on at Ancestry.com are down at this time. Anyone who might know something abt.him, I'd love to hear from them.. Thanks, MJ McKinley
