Seems like all the Fishers find their ancestors except my branch of the family. Are there no Fishers in Virginia? I am looking for decendants of John R. Fisher, born in Virginia in 1950 and Elizabeth Lee born in Arkansas in 1859, and married in Arkansas on 20 October 1878. Please, if anyone knows anything about these people, e-mail me.
I have Fishers in Franklin County , Kentucky that doesn't seem to fit either. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

You are correct that Amos Fisher of Berien Co MI was the father of Emerald Asa Fisher. Emerald married Carrie Lenora Dale of New Bedford Il. Her father was Thomas Edward Dale. He was a relatively well off farmer in New Bedford, Bureau Co, IL. He is burried at Union Cementry outside what is left of New Bedford IL. Thomas was married to Eliza (might be Elizabeth) Spargo (also spelled Spargel). Both Thomas and Eliza were from England. Amos Fisher served in the civil war and is buried in the Lakeside cementry in Lakeside MI. He was awarded a military disability pension for his service in the civil war. He was married t least twice. Carrie was Emerald Asa Fisher second wife. I believe his first wife died but they had a son named Homer. Emerald Asa Fisher and Carie lenora Dale moved to Kansas. They had a large family. Emerals did die at Osawotomie, Miami, Kansas. He was an inmate at the state aslyum at the time. One of Emerald and Carrie's daughters was named Artha. Artha was my grandmother. She married William H Johnson. She had three children with him before he died. He was invalided in an accident and died young. Her eldest son was Emeral Newton Johnson. Artha was to remarry at least twice more. Emerald was my father. I have a few pictures of Emerald Asa and Carrie Lenora Fisher and some of their children tucked away somewhere. They were a handsome couple. Both are buried t the Earlton Cementry in KS although I believe Carrie was living in Spokane WA at the time of her death. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you would like more information. jjj Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I was looking at various records till I went buggy eyed, trying to establish which Charles H. Fisher (with parents Hiram and Harriett) that I was connected to. Other than the explainable discrepency that you pointed out, I had also found another that threw me off. Maria (1845, Almira (1846), and Herain W.(Jr.)(1851) were listed on the "Herain" census of 1860, but not on the later record where David W. (1862) and Hannah C. (1864) were found. I guess they must have been grown and out of the house by that time. Also, thank you John Fisher for the tidbit on the possible "Fish" family connections. I will check that out! In the name you say and ancestry.com wrote for Hiram in the 1860 Nantucket, MA census(Herain). If you look at the census and look at all the other names that have a small "m" you will notice it is also at the end of his name. The census taker just accidently put a dot above the first part of the "m", so if you don't look real good you would think it was an "i". Also all the same children except Mary E, Thomas G and John H are also in the 1860 Nantucket, MA census. The 3 listed above were not born in 1850 is why they are not on the that census. Do you have the census to look at or were you looking at ancestry.com search. If you do not have them I can send them to you. I would say 99.9% these two are the same. Names, ages, place and birth places are to much alike not to be the same people. It is possible from an 1870 Nantucket, MA census that there was another daughter born same year you say Hiram passed away (1864). The only thing I question is there is also a David W 8 years old. They do not give relationship on this census. Harriet 47 Thomas G 16 Hannah C 6 born 1864 Hiram C 20 David W 8 If you need the census e-mail me Tammy [email protected] Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
