My Fisher line is from Buffalo, WVA. My grandfather was born abt 1885 and his name was Charles W Fisher, His parents were Taplan G Fisher and Rebecca Massey. I believe she was from Ohio. I don't know if they were English, Irish or German. I never met my grandfather. He died in Fl before I was born. I do know he resided in both Cincinnati and Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1900's. It took me 20 yrs to find out where he and his wife were buried and when they died. Charles had 2 sisters. Frances Fay and Molly. I believe Molly married and stayed in Putnam Co WVA. Fay married Ray Robison and resided in Cleves, Ohio until here death in the 1960's. Winnie <[email protected]> wrote: What Fisher line are you looking for? Mine are from Western PA also. My Fisher/Fischer's don't connect either. I believe that they are from Switzerland. I see them settling in Cambria County [mid 1880s] before the family split again [early 1900s] and some moved to Detroit, Wayne Co., MI. Recently through an obit there was mentioned and brother and sister alive in Philadelphia, PA - I have no idea who they could be. I have had my brother's DNA tested. The Fischer project currently has 22 members results posted and they don't have any known relationship with one another and the DNA does not match. The Haplogroups are all over the place. I am trying to encourage members to post a limited pedigree of their Fisher/Fischer line. You can check them out through Family Tree DNA home page, http:// www.familytreedna.com & in the upper right hand corner you can enter a surname which will take you to a page where you can hotlink to the projects. The FISHER Project is for those Fischer/Fisher's who have English ancestry. The FISCHER Project is for those Fischer/Fisher's who have German ancestry.
