I am looking for information on a Charles S. Fisher, born 1924 in Cook Co., Chicago, Ill and died 1997 in Illinois. His father was Cecil R. Fisher, born 1889 in Ontario, Canada and died about 1978. Cecil had a brother Legh (or Leigh) R. Fisher born October 31, 1883 in Ontario, Canada, died unknown when/where. Any information would be appreciated.

Info I was given said he was probably born around 1810-15 era. was in Mahaska Iowa on 1950 census. We are trying to find if and when he came from Germany. His father was supposedly educated in Germany. He is listed as being married to a Lovinia Unk. Know one in the family has any idea what her surname was. She was born around 1817 time fram possibly in Ohio. Dr Fisher died in Aug 1853 on the Oregon trail near what is now Boise Idaho. His widow and several children went on to Oregon and she married a Mr Young about 1857 or so. Thanks for any info. 'Ernie' Fisher, 90 ZANESVILLE - Ernest T. "Ernie" Fisher, 90, of Zanesville, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born Sunday, July 1, 1917, in Muskingum County, Ohio the son of Sim Fisher and Hattie (Early) Fisher. He retired in 1984 from the Muskingum County Highway Department following 16 years of service. He was also a partner along with his brother in Uncle Ernie's Restaurant. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Ernie is survived by one brother, Fred (Ilene) Johnson of Zanesville; two sisters, Josephine Chandler and Juanita Singer of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Singer Fisher who died Dec. 22, 1987; and his second wife, Helen Marie Goins Fisher who died May 1, 1997. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Hillis and Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave.Zanesville, Ohio Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at the funeral home.
