Hello to all! My great, great grandfather, ANDREW FISCHER, immigrated to the U.S. from the Offenburg, Baden, Germany area in 1881. His parents were KARL FISCHER and CHRISTINE SCHAUB (one church in the U.S. spelled her name SCHANZ). Andrew came alone to the States, so there's no knowledge of siblings. His parents' names and the listing of Offenburg were filed in Missouri church records. It is my belief that the listing in Germans to America regarding an Andreas Fischer, age 28, who came over from Antwerp on the "Bergenland", arriving in New York on Dec 19, 1881, with listed occupation as a farmer, is his. ANDREW was BORN: April 15, 1853 by gravestone records, but that could have been his "Name Day" as other ancestors of mine had small discrepancies between their U.S. gravestone birthdates and their German baptismal record birth dates. Any help would be appreciated as to the exact town where Andrew emigrated from, or the family that he left behind. I know what happened to him after he arrived in the U.S. and I would be happy to share that info with anyone believed to be his relative. Thank you for considering this request. Carol Rogers
